Someone left a comment on one of our earlier posts about Michael Guglielmucci and a song he wrote and sang. The comment alerted us to the fact that the singer and pastor had made a public statement, confessing to the leukemia hoax that he had been living under. I won’t touch on the details but you can read his statement details in this Australian newspaper article.

As I read the statement released by Michael Guglielmucci as well as other statements by his family and former church organisation, I felt saddened by the news but at the same time, the realization of how frail we are really are came to me. No one but our Lord, Jesus, has resisted the Great Tempter. Not even superstar singers or pastors are immune. How fallible our sinful nature has made us. And yet, we should be encouraged by this incident and be reminded how God truly is graceful and forgiving.

I’ve been busy at work lately.. trust me, really busy!

I’m starting to get to the point where I feel I’m about to burn out.. I know I should stop but there is just so much to do. Thought I’d take some time off by reviewing some of the testimonies from our group this week so that i can make some small little edits and ready them for publishing on our blog.

While searching for some inspirational pictures to put into someone’s testimony, I stumble across the following verse in another blog i visit on a regular basis for inspiration and motivation in my christian walk. So here is the post i read with a number of edits to make it a little more relevent to each of us in our group.

.

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

- Psalm 147:3 NIV

.

God is indeed our healer. He doesn’t always heal us in the way we expect Him to or when we expect Him to, but He is our healer. He can and will bring about our restoration. I’d been reviewing a number of our testimonies and the healing I see in each of your life stories is.. inspiring. Wow!

Take a few minutes to listen to the song. As i listened to the song, I asked myself -

.

.

Where do I need God to be a healer for me today?

  • In a stressful situation? at work? at home?
  • In our marriage?
  • In our finances?
  • In the midst of sickness?

.

Let God speak to you through the song, as he did to me, and take some time to ask ourselves the question. Fill in the blanks, share it with the rest of the group by leaving a comment or during our weekly meeting. Let us pray for healing in one another.

Go ahead, fill it in!

[27 Aug 2008 Editor's Note: I originally posted a video of a Hillsong concert that Michael Guglielmucci was performing the song, Healer, at. Unfortunately, there is some controversy surrounding Michael Guglielmucci which you can read about HERE. That original video, amongst many others, were removed from Youtube by Hillsong Publishing who apparently were exercising a claim to to "their copyright". I don't know why Hillsong has decided to do so since it was such a powerful song. As my passive form of protest against Hillsong's actions, I've left the reference to the original video in place to maintain the integrity of the post but you can watch and hear a cover of the song HERE. If you enjoy the song as I do, go buy the Hillsong album. IMHO, the song is still as powerful even if it is sung by someone else. You can find the lyrics to the song HERE. Our apologies for the inconvenience. adrian t]
