About This Blog
Welcome to the blog for the Latreia Care Group (CG) of Woodlands Evangelical Free Church (WEFC) in Singapore. We are a group of like-minded individuals, learning more about God through our worship, bible study, prayer, service and fellowship. Collectively, we are known as the Latreia CG.
Having gotten used to the idea of meeting regularly to hold small group discussions on various topics during the inaugural Alpha Course organized by WEFC in September 2007, one of those discussion groups decided they wanted to continue learning more about God and the Christian faith and thus Latreia CG was born.
Meetings were initially sporadic as the CG worked to develop relationships outside of the Alpha course but the CG settled down quickly when they were tasked by WEFC to help host, plan and organize the church’s second Alpha Course in the first half of 2008.
Since then, the group has grown. Members of the CG come from diverse backgrounds and our interests lie in many different fields. We each participate in various ministries and activities in the church but we all have one thing in common, that is, we come together to worship God and to give of ourselves in service to Our Heavenly Father.
All of us worship regularly at WEFC and we meet regularly, as individuals and as a group, for follow-up, bible study, discussions and prayers. Perhaps its been due to our initial work in the Alpha Ministry that we have been dubbed as the “Ministry of Makan” by parts of the church or perhaps its due to the fact that we often meet, on the spur of the moment, for the greatest of Singapore pastimes – eating, and some good ‘ole fellowship.
This blog and its entries represents the online life journal of our care group. Its aims are simple – to document and share the important events and moments in the life of the CG and its individual members and to share, with all, the thoughts and experiences of its members as well as our common love for Christ Our Saviour and Lord.
For those of you who are after more details, you will find them on our “Why We Blog?” page at http://blog.mylatreia.com/why-blog/. You are certainly welcome to contribute comments to our post and elucidate us with your wisdom but do bear in mind that we have a comment policy.
Last but not least, thank you for visiting our blog and taking the time to learn more about the Latreia Care Group and its individual members. We hope you too will join in our conversations, and have a closer and more meaningful walk with Jesus Our Lord and Saviour!!
